Accepted Commingled Materials 

Aluminum Food And Beverage Containers 

  • Aluminum soda and beer cans, pet food cans, etc.


Glass Food And Beverage Containers 

  • Flint (clear)
  • Amber (brown)
  • Emerald (green)


Ferrous Cans

  • Soup, coffee cans, etc.


P.E.T. Plastic Containers With The Symbol #1


H.D.P.E. Natural Plastic


Containers With The Symbol # 2

  • Milk jugs and water jugs, without caps (narrow neck containers)

H.D.P.E. Pigmented Plastic Containers With The Symbol #2

  • Detergent, shampoo, bleach bottles, etc. without caps (narrow neck containers)

Please remove and discard lids. These containers need not be rinsed of food waste or striped of any metal parts. It is not necessary to remove labels.




Accepted Mixed Residential Paper Fibers

KRAFT PAPER BAGS/ OLD NEWSPAPERS

  • Newspaper and accompanying inserts are acceptable paper to be tied with string or placed in a paper bag.

Old Corrugated Containers

  • Only brown boxes. No wax coated, no beer suitcase or six pack carriers, no chipboard.

Magazines 

  • Coated magazines, catalogues and similar printed materials, junk mail and soft cover books.




Materials Not Acceptable

Aerosol cans, mirrors, window or auto glass, light bulbs, ceramics, any plastic containers with #3, #4, #5, #6 or #7 on them or no number at all, oil or antifreeze containers, plastic bags, coat hangers, paint cans, containers which held hazardous chemicals,

Five-gallon pails or any household items (such as toasters, cookware etc.), microwave trays, phone books, hard cover books, or chipboard (cereal or pizza boxes).

Used Motor Oil Recycling 

Township residents may deposit small quantities of used motor oil, up to two gallons at one time, in the oil recycling holding tank located at the Public Works Garage on weekdays during the hours of 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Call the Public Works Dispatcher at 845.4004 Ext.137 for further instructions.

Batteries 

Boxes for used button batteries and rechargeable batteries are located at the Municipal Building, Public Library and numerous stores which sell this type of battery. Please dispose of button batteries and rechargeable batteries in these special receptacles.
