| Income-eligible senior citizens and disabled residents can get help with minor home repairs and maintenance. Using federal grants, the Township administers this helpful assitance program, which hires qualified contractors to perform necessary miscellaneous maintenance and plumbing, carpentry and electrical repairs on owner occupied houses.
Applications may be made at any time, all requests for assistance are contingent upon the availability of funds.
Applicants income must not exceed $10,000 (not including social security). For the purposes of calculating income, the following types of income must be included: salaries, wages, interest, dividends, capital gains, royalties, net income from rents, pension, annuity and retirement benefits. Proof if income is required at time application is made.
Disabled residents may also qualify for assistance. Any person who is permanently and totally disabled and meets the income qualification may apply. Proof of disability shall include one of the following: a physician's certificate verifying the disability, a copy of the social security award certificate (form SS A-30) or a copy of a P.A.A.D. card.
