The Bureau of Fire Prevention conducts fire inspections annually on all commercial properties in the Township to ensure their compliance with N.J.A.C. 5:70-1 regulations. Smoke detectors are available to West Deptford residents at a charge of $15. CO detectors and fire extinguishers are available for a nominal charge of $25. Tot finder and disabled finder stickers for also available for homes that house young children or disabled persons.

The Fire Official also performs Certificate of Occupancy Inspections on Non-Residential properties. An application form must be filed with the office, the fee is $30.00 and an inspection is scheduled by Mr. Trautner to allow occupancy.
